Wuhan (Lions Village)(1998)

In Summer 1998, the Yangtze RIver at China flooded seriously and thus more than 150 million people became homeless. The International President Kaitlyn Habanananda was moved by the victims when he visited China in September 1998. After he got the consent of building a “Model Village” from Lions Clubs International Foundation and the Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao supported the project, they donated a sum of RMB3 million Yuan immediately. On December 20, 1998, an official Lions delegation led by International President Kajit Habanananda and District Governor Judy Sin witnessed the official opening of the the first Lions Village in Wubei Province.
